FYI:

* Just a reminder that the last week of school, the students will be tested one day on all 50 state locations and the next day all 50 state capitals.  If the students want a chance to earn a 4 on progress reports, they will also need to know all 50 abbreviations and get really close on spelling.

* Unit 8 math test will be on Monday.  The students will only do parts of the test, which look at perimeter & area.

* In Science, the students will be doing a project on different types of energy.

*  Biome Fair 2019 will be on Wednesday, April 17th from 2:30 - 3:00.  It will be an open house, so you can come at any point during that time frame.  Hopefully, you received the email with detailed information about the biomes.

* Just a reminder that the 4th grade rollerskating party is on Thursday, April 11th from 3:30-5:00.  If your child still wants to sign up, please send in the $25 by Tuesday.

* Math test over Unit 7 will be on Monday, April 15th.  We will do a study guide at the end of next week to help the students prepare.

* Wow...here comes April!  April and May will go quickly because there are many activities that take place.  

* Please watch for an email on Monday in regards to our 4th grade auction rollerskating party.  We will let you know if your child is signed up and if not, how you can still get them signed up for the party.  The party is on Thursday, April 11th from 3:30-5:00.

*  Biome Fair 2019 will be on Wednesday, April 17th from 2:30 - 3:00.  More details to come as the date gets closer, but please put it on your calendar now.

* Thank you for coming to our Because of Winn Dixie plays today.  The students worked really hard to make their play come together & were so excited to share it with you.
* We will be working on the Southwest region next week.  It is a really fast unit with only four states, so the test will be the week after break...probably on Thursday, March 28th. 
* Keep working on those multiplication & division facts at home!  We are seeing big improvements in their basic facts!

* Keep working on those multiplication & division facts at home!  We took another multiplication time test today and those fact calendars seem to be working!  We will continue working on long division to begin the week.
* Science test over the skeletal & muscular systems will be on Tuesday, Feb. 12th.  The students should study their power notes and know their 21 main bones of the body.
* Looking forward to seeing you at conferences and sharing the progress your child is making with you.  If you have not signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible.
* Remember that our Valentine parties are on Wednesday.  Students may bring in treats/candy if they would like.  We will make folders here, but if your child prefers to bring in a box or bag of their own, they may do that.

* Despite the weather, we had a wonderful Catholic Schools Week!
* 100th Day is on Monday!  Bring in 100 coins to the library to celebrate.
* In science, we are studying the muscular & skeletal systems.  Be listening for students to study the main bones in their body!  The test is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 12th.
* Keep working on those multiplication & division facts at home!  Students will be starting a fact calendar next week to encourage practice at home.  We will be working on long division (partial quotients & traditional) starting the end of next week.

FYI:

* Wow, we survived a crazy week of weather and schedules!  We think we finally got all of our scheduled tests completed as well.  Looking forward to next week celebrating Catholic Schools.  Monday the students may wear clothing from a community they are involved in.  Tuesday is Spirit Wear with any bottoms and our movie, Wednesday is dress up for Jesus with early dismissal, Thursday students may wear a shirt that represents St. Francis, and Friday is pajama day and BINGO.  We are anxious to have a fun week celebrating our school and students!
* In reading, we are starting Because of Winn-Dixie, one of our favorite fourth grade novels! 
* We will be switching from social studies to science to study the muscular & skeletal systems.  Be listening for students to study the main bones in their body!
